Rafael holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the Federal University of Santa Catarina and later he completed his academic career with a Master’s Degree in Economic Development from Unicamp with research aimed at the dynamics of innovation. Later he worked as a consultant at the World Bank projects in north of the country, being responsible for the implementation and monitoring of public policies for primary health and social development. In the private sector, his experience includes M&A and Venture Investment in Bessemer Venture Partners, a US Venture Capital Fund focused on technology, where he was an Associate focused on health technologies. He also worked as a consultant to the innovation of the IIC (Inter American Investment Corporation), the private sector arm of the Inter-American Development Bank, and recently completed his MBA at Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia.
